AGCO to deploy Agility Digit humanoid in Kansas factory

AGCO and Agility Robotics have signed a commercial agreement to deploy Agility’s Digit humanoid in AGCO’s manufacturing facility. The U.S. pilot, expected to begin in 2027, will support AGCO’s efforts to create more flexible, intelligent factories, beginning at its production site in Hesston, Kan.

By pairing human ingenuity with robust robotic engineering and strict safety governance, we create resilient manufacturing systems that empower the workforce and deliver measurable business value.”

AGCO said it is a global leader in agricultural machinery and precision agriculture technologies. The Duluth, Ga.-based company ‘s brands include Fendt, Massey Ferguson, PTx, and Valtra. AGCO said its high-performance equipment and smart farming systems, including brand-agnostic retrofit technologies and autonomous offerings, “empower farmers to drive productivity while sustainably feeding the world.”

AGCO joins a growing list of Digit deployments

Digit uses AI to continuously learn and adapt to evolving workflows, enabling greater operational flexibility and improved productivity, according to Agility. When paired with the Agility Arc cloud-based platform for deploying and managing robot fleets, companies can rapidly integrate automation into essential operations without requiring extensive infrastructure changes or costly facility upgrades, it added.

AGCO joins a growing number of global leading companies deploying Agility’s humanoid robots, including Toyota , GXO Logistics , and Schaeffler .

Agility is on the move

Agility said its humanoid robot will initially support key assembly and production operations including sorting and stacking parts sorting, as well as intelligent placement of totes for storage. The physical AI company asserted that Digit will enhance ergonomic safety, improve operational efficiency, and empower employees to focus on higher-value, skill-driven work that advances innovation and productivity.

It has been a busy time for Agility Robotics. Last month, the company unveiled the latest version of its robot , Digit 5. The latest version of Digit includes new legs , upgraded batteries , and a more comprehensive safety architecture. The Salem, Ore.-based company also recently confirmed that it is exploring building wheeled robots for its customers.

Agility is preparing to become a public company through its previously announced merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI. The business combination is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, after which the combined company will operate as Agility Robotics and is expected to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “AGLT.”
